Baby Z got a new name today. Well, not really but we did find out the proper spelling of her name versus what was initially given to us. To us the spelling does not look like how we say her name, but we were told the pronounciation was the same.
I know, we both were like huh? How was her proper, given name not provided to DCF and us, but here we are. So although I can't share it, it is different than we once thought, so now we have to get used to a new spelling and update all her contacts including her Doctors and all the associated documentation (fun times indeed).
Luckily, we have not made anything officially using her name for her or her room, but good to know at least.
As of right now, we are just doing what we can to give this baby girl a good life and we both feel we are doing a great job overall. She is such a blessing to us. Honestly, for anyone considering parenthood (in any fashion), it is true what they say it is the hardest but most rewarding job you will ever have. Foster parenting is just a different spin to it is all. Happy to share more with anyone interested in learning about it or perhaps venturing down the same path in the future too.
Stay tuned for more adventures from The Smiths & Baby Z.
